THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION CENTER
POLICIES
Transfer credits from other recognized institutions may be applied to semester credit hours needed for graduation. One half of the semester credit hours needed for graduation must be completed through the Theological Education Center.
Many nationally known institutions of higher education are allowing experiential learning to apply toward degree credits. If you have been ministering in the field of the degree you seek, the Academic Committee will evaluate your documented claims for experiential learning credits and allow semester credit hours accordingly on the bachelor's or master's level. No experiential learning may count toward a doctoral degree.
To qualify for experiential learning credits the degree candidate will be required to furnish letters and/or documentation which verify the number of years which are being claimed. The following schedule displays the credit hours which may be granted toward the degree you are seeking:
1-6 years full time experience = 2 credit hours per year;
7 years and above full time experience = 3 credit hours per year.
The minimum number of semester credit hours taken through the TEC program are the same as listed above in regard to transfer credits. Both transfer credits and experiential learning credits can be counted toward degree requirements on the bachelor's or master's level.
The Theological Education Center recognizes that every institution of higher learning has its own criteria for accepting trasfer credits and/or degrees from other institutions. Acceptance by other institutions of credit and/or degrees through TEC is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution. TEC accepts transfer credits from other qualified schools.
The Theological Education Center grading scale is:
90-100 = A (4.0);
80-89 = B (3.0):
70-79 = C (2.0);
60-69 = D (1.0);
0-59 = F (0.0).
An overall 2.5 GPA is required for graduation.
Because of the individualized nature of the program diplomas are issued at the completion of the study program rather than at the graduation ceremony.
The Theological Education Center admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. TEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin of applicants, in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, or programs.
